How To Please Your Alien Supervisors (AKA: How To Play Abducktion)
Configure your ducks, abduct them to your UFO, and win!
During each turn, you’ll race your opponents to get your ducks in the right formation to beam them up. The catch? There are limited ways to move your ducks around, determined by action cards that you’ll draw!
1
Draw a formation card:
This tells you how you’ll need to configure your ducks in order to “abduct” them from your board.
2
Draw an action card:
This tells you how you’re allowed to move your ducks in a single turn.
3
Race to get your ducks in formation:
If you manage to get your ducks into formation before your opponent, you can “abduct” them off the board and earn points.
4
The person with the most points wins!
After all the formation cards have been captured, the game ends and the person with the most points is the winner!

“Played it once: bought expansion pack immediately!”
“So much fun! The instructions are witty. Can't wait to get it so that we can play with two other couples (total of 6 players). This is a great game involving reasoning, logic, strategy and a little bit of luck, but not so much "brain work" that you can't drink and chat whilst playing the game.”

“Quick to pick up and didn’t require a huge time commitment! It leans towards light gamers, but it also has the strategy and planning that will keep more experienced gamers involved and coming back! Also…super cute!”

A Successful Mission Requires The Highest Quality Tools
When you’re completing tasks for your alien superiors, we know quality matters. That’s why all our components, from ducks to cards to UFOs, are obsessively designed to last. Your job may be to abduct as many ducks as possible, but our job is to make sure you can keep playing for years and years to come.
For research purposes, of course.
Other Strategy Games Take Hours… Just to Learn the Rules
We designed Abducktion to be learned in minutes, so you can get straight to the fun part.
Any Questions?
Is the game appropriate for everyone?
The content is, but the activity might not be — Abducktion can be challenging! There’s probably not an upper limit on age (we designed it to be fun for adults even if tiny ears and eyes are around) but anyone under 10-12 might struggle with the logic puzzle aspect of the game.
How many players is the game designed for?
The base game is for 1-4 players (yep, it comes with solo play rules so you can play as a logic puzzle on your own!) and you can play with up to 6 players with the expansion pack.
How many ducks are there?
80! We wanted there to be enough ducks to ensure statistically random probability of drawing any color duck. The Expansion adds an extra 40 standard ducks, and 10 Glitter Ducks.
How do I get more ducks after capturing a formation card?
Grab them out of the spaceship, of course! Once you’ve captured a Formation Cards, the ducks remaining on your board all move downstream immediately, leaving no empty spaces between them. Then, players will take ducks from the ship, one at a time, and refill the empty ponds.
How long is each turn?
Playtesters were finishing their turns in 30 to 90 seconds. Plus, we’ve designed the game so the majority of the “duck refilling” activity happens after you’ve already passed your turn to the next player, which really keeps things moving.
When does the game end?
At the beginning of each game, you’ll randomly count out a stack of 12 formation cards that you’ll all compete for (the game comes with double that, so you won’t see every formation every game). Once all the Formation Cards have been captured, the game ends, and whoever has the most points wins!

Played this game for the first time with my husband, and it was a lot of fun. The pods and glitter ducks definitely add to the complexity. That being said, this is the only time we'll likely play it. I originally ordered the game from Amazon. They shipped the box inside of an envelope, and the box was badly damaged. I returned it and decided to order directly from the company and pay the extra shipping. They shipped the box inside of an envelope. It was badly damaged (see attached photos). The box is hard to open and close because of the crumpled corner, and my husband was upset enough by this that it really spoiled my enjoyment of the game. It's a good game, but should only be purchased locally if you care about having a box that isn't damaged.
The game is a blast, I play it with a diverse group of friends of all experience and skill levels, and it holds up. The concept is fun and engaging, but it offers some real level of strategy and skill!
We LOVE this game! I gave it to my husband for Christmas (we play a lot of games as a family) and the whole family enjoyed it. Our 9- and 11-year-olds caught on quickly. We all voted the game a keeper and it might just be MY new favorite! I love that it doesn't take forever to play and I'm a fan of logic/thinking games so this one hits the mark in every way. Plus, we all think the ducks are so fun!
Santa left this gift under the Christmas tree for my family. Okay, it was really me, and I'm glad I did! The ducks are very cute and fun to move around. The game is simple to learn but you need to use your brain to make a good plan and earn good points! The premise and the materials are really fun. It's a unique and enjoyable game!
My husband always wins at this game, but I love it anyway! It is our favorite game to play at the moment. It is so much fun and I love the idea of the little ducks and the UFO. The last time we played, I got the Big Dipper but he still won at the very end because he pulled the Cassiopea...
My kids both liked this game. It does require quite a bit of spatial reasoning skills to orient both the ducks (to match the cards) and their future positioning on the game board. I'd definitely qualify this as a "thinky" game.
The game play is pretty simple. We had no problems picking up the ruleset. The game pieces are all premium quality too. My ONLY complaint is that the silicone saucer that holds the ducks is a dirt/hair magnet. You're going to want to play this in a freshly cleaned environment (not on the floor like we did).
Abducktion was an immediate hit- we were playing within a few hours after opening (and the other gifts all got opened). Kids loved the UFO and the ducks, too!
Super cute and fun! Easy enough to pick up quickly and play with anyone, while staying interesting and strategic as you try to match the patterns. The expansion is a straight upgrade too, very glad we picked it up!
I bought this game for the family for xmas and we absolutely love it, we have already played it 5 times in the last 3 days!! Its our new favorite game 💯
Abduction was a perfect Yankee swap gift! Once opened we played for hours!!! We learned as we played , laughed hard and all agreed it was a fun game!!!!!
Accidently we ordered the expansion of Abducktion instead of the actual game. They were very good about helping us keep the expansion and get what we origionally planned on purchasing. Thank you.
This game is very quick and easy to learn, yet it really does offer deep strategy and replayability. I appreciate the high quality components as well, the cardstock is nice and heavy, the ducks are well made and painted and the ufo is good quality, sufficiently thick to last a while.
I was introduced to this game by a member of my gaming group. Loved the mechanics, accessibility, and the cuteness/humor. Knew I had to buy a copy to play with my family because they would love it, and I was right! From kids to adults, everyone here loves this game. Highly recommend!!
I never buy anything from an Instagram ad, but the look and concept of this game (and its adorable pun, of course) caught my eye. So glad I followed my gut! Played this with my partner and my parents, and I’ve already decided to invest in the expansion! The game structure takes a bit of thought because there can be so much to do in a single turn, but most folks will pick it up very quickly.
Awesome game for the whole family, game can be as long or as short as you well, easy or
Hard. Lots of laughs to be had. Only thing that would make it better is having small/weak magnets to keep the ducks from slipping and sliding.
Perfect game to help pass the time while I'm off my feet due to knee surgery. I'm so glad that we played. It's so easy to learn, fast to play, we were laughing as we abduckted tons of ducks. Even the rule book was well thought out and hilarious to read. We can't wait to try the exspansion.
Purchased for my niece who loves ducks and anything space related. She loved it. She said it is a fast-paced game that requires creativity, foresight, and strategy. It is out-of-this-world fun for the whole family! And the ducks are super cute too. Game includes high-quality game boards, pieces, and spaceship!
Bought this as a birthday gift for my duck and game loving boyfriend. We've played it twice so far. Love the combination of luck and strategy. Definitely took us longer than the stated duration on the box, but we really enjoyed it! The UFO full of ducks is fun to shake before drawing new ducks.
I like that this game is easy to teach to beginner gamers while still presenting enough strategy to make it fun for more seasoned players. The theme is cute, and the play time is just enough for an engaging time while not getting too bogged down.
We played this game while away for a short weekend visit to my niece and their boyfriend. I have had my eye on this game for a few years. I spotted it in a toy store in Freeport, Maine. We had a lot of fun with it. I took the game home with me and ended up surprising my nieces boyfriend with his own game. The picture here was sent just after they opened the shipment. All I see is … PURE JOY! It’s a beautiful thing! 🥰
i had so much fun playing this w my friend crystal it was rly funny to have the little ducks as playing pieces i would totally recommend this game to friends
